On October 8, 1985, Christoph Thoma founds Herkules USA (HUSA) in Memphis, Tennessee. Eleven years later, the company acquires RD&D in Erie, Pennsylvania. The sales company Herkules North America (HNA) and HCC/KPM, manufacturer of machine controls, are also headquartered here. In 1999, Herkules merged with Kube & Plekker Microsystems (KPM), an industry known supplier of roll grinder control & measuring systems, based in Ford City, Pennsylvania. Today, Herkules USA specializes in manufacturing new roll grinders and new roll lathes, and in the modernization of older machines. Herkules USA can offer a wide range of machine modernizations, from electrical and control upgrades to complete machine manufacturing, regardless of the OEM.
